drawing club returns!

And just like that, it's fall — the grossest time of year in Los Angeles. Before you could say, "back to school," summer was over, temperatures soared into the 100s and now we're sweltering and dreaming of sweater weather. Luckily, we have Drawing Club at Pop-Hop in Highland Park to keep us cool. Here are some pics from workshop #2 last month:
My favorite game, "Cosby Sweater."

Captain, the main dawgg at Palaceworks, models for a series of timed portrait sketches.

Ivan Brunetti's "Famous Cartoon Characters" is one of the games I learned during my summers in White River Junction.
"Superhero Jam" is another favorite, taught to me by Jason Lutes and Stephen Bissette. It's the fastest way to conceptualize, write and draw a complete (ridiculous) comic starring two original characters.
Hamming it up for Facebook while waiting for the timer.
Tiny drawings in tiny plastic bags.
"Pizza Party" is a collaborative pass-and-draw game and the results always make me LOL. (Some of these games I really just made up for my own twisted amusement).
Oh, looky! Drawing Club #3 is coming soon!
